Why don't you take some pics of the converters and compare those instead.
I see one pic of where it mates but that's it.

Also call up the dealer and compare the part numbers for a replacement for yours vs one for a 2001 taco.

That's a good idea, here are the part numbers of these off the 2001-02 V6 Taco parts list I have and the dealer prices new.
front 17410-07040 $862
Rear 17403-07040 $1002
