Has anyone ever tried one of these ignition coil boosters
has anyone used one of these or another similar system?

I haven't tried this system but the general concencis is that these ignition boosteres dont' really do that much and arn't worth the money. I have given up on the idea of buying one since I started checking this board.

Thanks bike4miles,I was just wondering becuase i was going to replace my ignition coil,but it was going to have to come from japan & was going to cost over $400nz.
But last night on a us parts site that had a very indepth catolog of parts (including toyota 4runner)I saw one for only about $50us,so matbe i should try to get one of them instead.

Here is a review of the Jacob's on 4x4 wire.

If the charts are correct there is a good increase in power etc.
A friend of mine put a Crane Fireball system on his 4 cyl Toyota truck. Not really any power increase there but his mileage did go up and starts were faster. The mileage increase may be due to the system was like a tune up. We left one of the plug wires off and hooked another plug up while the truck ran. The spark from the Crane was hugh compared to stock. A big ZAAAP compared to a little crack. These systems are nice as they can be disconnected in a minute. Most of these system come with their own coil.
