Stay the hell away from Genuine Gear....
I usually recommend Precision Gear brand and find a knowledgeable person to set them up. The set up is as important (if not more) than the gear make

Check this thread I started for some info:
http://www.yotatech.com/f2/re-gear-s...hoenix-138384/ ZUK @ http://www.gearinstalls.com/ did a stellar job and knows his stuff. I would stick with 4:56s if your going to run 33s. |

Second that--i am running 35's & 4.88's and the motor spins pretty fast on the highways--33's and 4.88's--you better like driving slow. You can also buy your gears/thirds pre set-up from marlin crawler, inchworm gear..etc.

4.88's and 33's with an automatic is fine. Your overdrive is much higher than 5 speed trucks and your rpm won't be that high. .70:1 vs. .83:1
I have 4.56's in my 5spd 4runner. Rpm is similar to an auto with 5.29's in overdrive. And don't get genuine gear. Almost anything else is better. Last edited by Taro; 04-08-2008 at 09:12 AM. |

Precision gear all the way.
IMO, go with 4.56s & 33's if you do a lot of hwy/high speed driving. Otherwise, go 4.88s.
