How did you get the differential to work or fit?.... And why?

A limited probably had 4.30 gears.

gear ratio

I did a 3.4 swap with auto tranny and transfer case which has front drive shaft on opposite sides so had to mount front diff out of 99 in 88. Took some ingenuity but it wasnt that bad. I also had to blend the front CV axles with 99 on inside and 88 on outside that worked really slick and was quite easy. Mounting the diff wasnt that bad either. Truck has 3 inch suspension lift otherwise it wouldnt have worked. It all turned out beautiful except for the different ratios. I now have a set of 4.30 gears ordered for the rear of the 88 and that should solve everything!! I hope!
