how can i tell if the shop installed my front diff drop when they put on my ss 7.1 kit any pics or anything?..dont really know what im lookin for just wanna make sure they put them on

i have a 2002 will i have to take anything off to get to it or is it easty to see, because im having trouble finding something that looks like that

Might need to pull the front skid plate off to see, the front diff mounts should be up in front of the front diff, two long bolts going up into the frame brackets.

the very front one(silver) or the black one with the oil drain hole in it? thanks guys

The one that would run back to the location of the front differential, not sure what color it is. But the rear two bolts that hold that skid plate in place should have spacers on them as well as it needed to be lowered to clear the lowered front diff.

If they put the diff spacers on, they would have had a hard time putting the skid plate back on. I had to grind some of my skid plate off to get it back on with the diff spacers on. So look for the spacers right under (or on top of) the skid plate.

thanks guys...gotta wait till its light out tomorrow, but i dont think the shop installed them, prob just threw them out..

and i was looking over other stuff and i held my old panhard/trac bar to the adjustable one and they are the same length so i dont think they adjusted it...anyone have any pics of one on an 01 or 02 4runner with a 2.5-3inch suspension lift?

I can't remember, but, isn't possible to extend the panhard bar when its on the truck? You'd probably have to jack the truck up though, and use a floor jack under the pumpkin to get it to move though.

anyone know how it is supposed to be adjusted so i can measure and how bad is it gonna mess it up if it is the same size as stock with a ss 7.1lift? its been like this for almost 2 months

Easiest way to set the length is to make it so the bolt slips into the end of the bracket with the suspension at normal ride height and with the axle centered (side to side) under the truck. Basically, you want no tension or compression force on the panhard rod at the normal ride height.

so should i take it off and them adjust it so that when i put it back on it just bolt up and how do i make sure the axle is centered?

I may install the diff drop before I take the 4runner to the shop for the installation on the ss7 springs and shocks. Any problem with driving the 4runner with the diff dropped before the lift? The more I ask the shop to do, the higher the cost. I'm sure I can do the diff drop, bumpstop, and extended brake line.

first pics are of panhard/drop bar..does it look right? or is there no way to tell by looking..
last pic is of the diff drop i think...someone can tell me if they know..if it is does it look like the diff drop spacers were installed?

Only way to tell on the panhard rod is pull the bottom bolt and see how the holes line up and measure the axle centering on the vehicle (measure fender-tire or frame-tire clearance on each side, should be equal).

Looks like no diff spacers in there, as the diff bracket is bolted directly to the frame.
