Floppy seatbelts making me nutso....
Has anybody tried to get Toyota to replace their 1st gen 'Runner and '84-'95 PU seatbelts with new ones yet? I remember reading somewhere about how "safety items" such as seatbelts are warrantied from Toyota for as long as the (original) purchaser owns the vehicle. Is this true? Can anyone confirm this?
I feel my local Toyota dealer won't give me an honest answer about this problem if I take it to them. I'd like to know for sure, beforehand, if they HAVE to replace them or not. The ones in my '88 PU are getting real floppy and the belts have a hard time spooling back up into the reels. Most of the junkyard ones I've seen are the same way. Floppy! I've already tightened the reels, but they quickly got floppy again.
