I just bought one last week on Ebay. Mine is missing one of the little rubber knobs so I'm hoping I can find something that will slide on. I've seen a few of those missing the knobs so they must fall off easily right?

BTW - I got mine for $57

That is a deal if it doesn't go much higher.

I have the exact same one I bought last year, and I paid $150 for it.

These are for right hand drive rigs, so you need to modify it to fit a left hand drive rig.

Corey - do you think it will fit in front of my shifter on the shifter console? I think I can fab up an L-bracket. I don't know exactly how tall it is but I'd like it out of sight and even though I recently got a crack in my dash I don't want to drill holes in it.

BTW - I'm planning on being up in Wash the second week of June. Can you recommend some trails near Seattle and if you know any out by Ocean Shores that would be awesome.

Victor, I am not sure if it will fit down there or not.
The gauges go out flush, and it would be awfully hard to read them down that low.

On the pics on Ebay you can see the metal plate below it with the two studs.
I don't have that plate on anymore, the stereo shop made me a custom base for it.

Pics are on my website in the mods section.

The only trails I am familiar with are up at Greenwater since I live close to it.

Up near Seattle contact Shane & WATRD on the forum here for info on trails that are closer to Seattle.

My in laws live in Burien which is close to Auburn. I'll see if I can get a day in at Greenwater. I will be in Ocean Shores for a couple of days so I'll see if I can find a local off-road area there.

Thats exactly the same as mine which came with my rig. Same colour also. Mine is missing a knob too. Maybe they only came with two knobs and you have to move one around!

I recently got one off E-bay also. I paid $100 for it. I didn't mod the base to much and it fits fine, all I had to do was shave a bit off some corners to make it more level. Click in my sig. to see a pic of it. Mine also has one knob missing, its not much of a problem the thing is easy enough to turn w/o the knob

The install was easy. My dad and I made it alot harder than it should have been (i.e. we took apart the whole dash) all you really need to take off to get under the dash is the glove box and the anti-lock brake thingy up there. Then find a good light source. I spliced into the ash tray light.

I have a dumb question...

Okay, here's a dumb question-
I'm probably going to bid on this, but, what's the wire coming out of the bottom for? Is that just for power to the lights inside the unit?

*sigh* dazed and confused

Its for the backlighting. If you look closely there is a switch by the altimeter to turn off the backlighting.

Make sure when you buy the paint, that the cap color is a couple shades darker than your interior. Also get vinyl paint from an auto store, it will work much better. I had to paint mine black cuz I couldn't find a match for my interior

Corey can you show me a pic of your base? Mine didn't come with the metal plate you describe. The rest of the unit was great but it is missing that so I'm looking to do something very similar to what you did.

I looked at mounting it by my shifter console and it fit great but....I won't be able to open my ashtray since it swings down as it comes out. I'll look at it some more but for now that looks like a dead idea. I have considered removing the back half of the unit (plastic cover) and making a simple bracket that mounts about 1/2" under the ashtray.

Victor, where on the shifter are you thinking about mounting it? If it's on the ashtray it will be upside down, right? I wanted to mount mine there but I couldn't think of a good way to do it, so I just put it on the dash.

Unfortunately I broke the bulb for the ashtray by smacking it while wiring up the lighting to the inclinometer. Not a big deal but I'll have to replace it. I was going to wire to the cig lighter but then I dropped the ashtray bracket and voila 2 wires! I wired the red wire from the ashtray light with the stripe to the green wire with a stripe on the inclinometer and it worked the first time.
