I certainly wouldn't pay $1100 for one though, I can do without one and do with other things instead.
The key to getting the cost down is simplicty and doing more than one at a time. If I see a big demand I would put effort into making them easy to make.

A custom one would run into the 1000's cause you would need to set aside a minum of a couple days start to finish. But If I'm making lets say 5 of them at once. I break the work up into days and save time and money by pre cutting everything and having some measurments and or a jig.

In reality I would offer a basic one with just a swing out in the 600.00 range above that would be wrap arounds, multiple mounts for equipment, LED lights, 2in reciever hitch, I could even get fancy and put dimple dies into the materail stuff like that.

that's what I'm talking about. I would take one of the basic ones, no fancy-schmancy bling-ity bling needed for me. just the wrap around style with the schwing out tire carrier big enough to hoist a 33" on 16x8 wheel with 4" B.S.

A decent gas tank skid is also a needed item for 3rd Gens. Those have been custom jobs as well to this point. There won't be too many interested parties for that item, though.

A dimple die is a die that make s really nice punch out in thin metal making it stronger but saving weight!

Toyota and allot of manufactors use them in simple parts to make thinner metal stronger! I was looking for a picture but couldn't find a good one.

I would need a factory one that is not bent up to get measurments then I could make one. It's going to be hard to make one of those and not have it weigh a ton! 3/16in is as min as I would go and that would prolly weigh around 60lbs at least! I made a sub frame and skid plate for the front of my tacoma that was it doesn't just bend the plate steel and I lost no room there. But the gas tank is already so low! I think the best thing would be a subframe and a tank kit that will move it up if you have a body lift.
