Cruise Control Issues
My cruise control is not working. When i pressed the button on the side to turn on the CC system the light on the dash would kick on but when i pressed down it would not engage?????
I was told to check the switch under the clutch pedal, they said that they stick. The button on the switch worked fine though. I already checked the fuse of course. I have tried many times and different ways to engage the CC, holding the button a long time, a short time, and so on. Is there any way to check the switch under the clutch to see if its bad or do i just have to buy a new one? Or do you not think it is the switch at all? If not what is it? Thanks for any sugg. you might have.

are you using the CC stalk correctly?
Press the button on the end to engage the CC system (light up CC in dash)
Flick CC stalk down and hold for a second to set speed, pull the stalk towards you to stop CC, push stalk up to reactivate at previous speed.
Is this what you are doing?
I don't think (but I don't know for sure ) the clutch pedal switch has anything to do with cruise control

I got my head under the dash and watched that switch press and depress. Is there an easy point where i could measure to see if the switch is actually opening and closing?

I had the same problem with my 2000 from the day I bought it only the previous owner rewired the clutch switch so it was cut out of the loop. What I found to be my problem was the cruise control box itself. Pop your hood and find the cable coming off of the throttle that runs to your cruise control. Mine was loose so even though the cruise was on and functioning, it couldn't operate the throttle. There is a barrel adjuster on that cable that will take slack out of the system. Check for slack and tighten the cable. That might be your problem area.
