Coleman Safari Rack, still available anywhere???

Hi Guys,

I've discovered your posts pertaining to the Coleman Safari Rack that many of you have purchased. The threads I've found list purchases through December of last year.

Does anyone know if they're still being produced and if so, where one might be found? I've looked at Costco.com but I've not found it there.

Thanks for any help you may have!

I've found the "new" Coleman Safari rack on eBay, but it doesn't look anywhere near the quality of the $75 Costco Coleman/Yakima rack, and it costs more to boot!

Keep your eye on Craigslist. I found a Yakima Loadwarrior with a bunch of attachments for $180. Better than $300+ new, thats for sure!

Also seen a few dickheads trying to pawn the Costco Rack off for 2x the price!

Good writeup in the new May/June issue of 4WD Toyota Owner magazine.

Check out a ROLA rack. I've had mine about 5 months now, and really like it.

Nice, thats the one I've had my eye on as well. That's the cheapest I've seen it and with free shipping, I just ordered it!

How do you have your spare mounted?

Just installed my Rola rack from etrailer yesterday and like it alot. Its well made and installs easily. It is not as deep at 4" than the Yakima or Thule at 6.5" (which I don't mind), but other than that it is basically the same. I know, I know...where's the pics...I'll have to work on that this afternoon!

Thanks Corey, Psalm, and Everyone.............I appreciate the leads. I wish I would have been paying attention when the Coleman racks were available at Costco.

I just hold it in place with some black rope, then run a cable through it to lock it place. Gotta keep the crooks away.

Psalm, is yours attached directly to the factory roof rack? If so, does it feel solid when on the trails?

Well thanks again guys,

I like the Baja as well as the Rola but with the Rola being half the price as the Baja I think that's gonna be the route I take.

Thanks again!
