Climate Control Lightbulb
The lightbulb behind the climate control panel in my 1995 4Runner burnt out. This is the panel where you turn on and off the heater or AC. It's the green light bulb that illuminates the whole panel. I tried to buy a new one but the dealer says I have to buy the whole climate control assembly! I tried using a bulb for the instrument panel but that bulb is smaller and won't work. Anybody have to deal with this problem? I was thinking if push comes to shove I could use a green LED but that won't dim like a regular light bulb will it?

Steveh29, I'm going to change out the whole switch assy. The bulb still works, you can have the bulb. I hope to do it this weekend. I have a 90 V6, I think it should work.

What kind of a Toyota stealership did you go to? Its a sylvania 74, the same lamp used for the glovebox light, ashtray light and climate control light. If they don't have one any GM stealership will. You could also try NAPA or Autozone, its a pretty common lamp.
