Brake problem.

Brake problem.
Brake light keeps coming on. I refill the cilender and it goes out. But comes back on in a weaks time. My truck is drinking the brake fluid. Is there any thing i can do? Could this me my brake fluid cap?
I have a 87 runner with about 32 inch tire and 16 inch rim.

You either have a leaky cylinder on one of the wheels, or a leaky brake line. Get under there and start tracing the lines and looking for fluid. Check each wheel, and the lines to each one. Also, check under the Master cylinder for fluid. Maybe have someone step on the brakes to help find the leak. The engine doesn't need to be running, that just helps. The brakes work just fine without the vacuum boost.
Then replace the failed item, line or cylinder, whichever.
A thought just hit me (and now my head hurts...
): Have you had them bled recently? If so, perhaps one of the bleeder valves is still open slightly, permitting the loss of fluid when you step on the brake. Just a thought.

Once I had a rusted bleeder screw that leaked from the threads. I was gonna buy new one, but just put on some plumbers tape for now. Five weeks later, it's still holding.
Just run your finger along the brake connections (not the lines) all around looking for fluid. This is how I found my leak.

Found nothing as of yet. But I guess I need to go for a good drive and then check it out because as I said its a slow leak. Takes about a weak or two to empty. Faster when pulling the boat. I'll keep an eye on it and get back. And No. I haven't had any brake work done. Ive had it about a year almost 2 now. Bryan

Keep us informed. You've got a leak someplace, now you just need to ferret it out.

if you can not see a leak then it might be at the wheel cyl, the fluid is leaking on to the rear drum or front rotor and getting burned off with stopping or normal process of brake dust is soaking it up either way if you are refilling the cup every two weeks or so you have a leak somewhere that will more than likely only get worse with time and could lead to a "no brakes" while driving. IMHO....get back there and check futher. an accident caused by bad brakes that where known to be a problem is no longer an accident, hang it up if an insurance company finds out you knew the brakes had a problem....
