Blew a tire....

Yes.. its a sad day. I was cruising down the road when i began to hear a loud hiss, quickly followed by a much louder bang. My truck then begins to sag hard we've all felt it. Well I throw the spare on take it to tire kingdom where i tell them to replace it and align it while i have it here. Up on the lift she goes and my idler arm slides down the cross member (sway bar???) they tell me i need, and toyota reccommends a new idler arm and pitman arm. and they will be happy to do it for 450!! I say no thanks i'll figure it out.. but replace the tire. So here i am, do i really need to replace both arms or is it more likely the bushing in the idler arm is broken. The pitman arm looks fine, is it necessary to replace it? Being in Florida i want to get this fixed who knows when you have to flee from a hurricane...

Just replace the idler arm if the pitman looks o.k.It's an easy job that you can do with the truck on the ground that requires the removal of only 3 bolts and one nut.
I don't know why, but the pitman arm seems to go out all of the time. I've replaced mine 4 times and it still blows out the lower boot/bushing,(hhhumm, may have something to do with the cranking up of the torsion bars ???
Good luck and it dees'nt hurt to keep an eye on things.
