too bad those Nitto TG's only come in 33+35 for 15" wheels...

Anyone here change from the bfg long trails to the a/t's? I wonder how they compare as far as wet traction (tire spinning accelerating from stop lights) and hydroplaning?

The BFG AT's are MUCH better than the crappy "long trails" for all types of traction. Just about anything is better than the "long trails"...
With that being said, I wouldn't waste your money on BFG AT's when you can get:
Nitto Terra Grappler AT
Yokohama Geolander AT
Toyo Open Country AT
Bridgestone REVO AT

I used to have the BFG At's I liked them at first but they seemed to wear pretty fast for me and as soon as they wore even a little I was doing alot of hydroplaining. That and it was horrible in the snow after a little wear. I put some Les Schwab tires on my truck this last winter and have loved the difference in handling in the rain and snow. I will eventually be going up to 35's and will have to buy a new tire. Anyone have any experience with Pro comp mud terraines??

My BFG A/T's worked excellent in the snow and all around. Wore very well, quiet and handled well. I wouldn't recommend mud for these tires as you will be spinning. I have been out in the woods with no problems with these tires. If you are doing everything except mud then these tire will work for you. Also I haven't seen anyone mention, the BFG's are a very tough tire. They have 3 ply side and 5 ply tread. I don't think many of the tires out there have more than a 6 ply compared to the 8 of that of the BFG's. Personally I think mud terrain tires suck in the snow. Basically if you off-road but stay away from the soupy mud, you will have no problem getting to where you got to go.
