basic lift question
hi there, my name is Graham i'm brand new to this site, i have scanned for this question a bit so i don't repeat someone else but i've not seen it yet. i have a 2000 4runner limited i'm looking to lift it with a toytech ome 3" kit and get the 1 inch dif drop... about a month ago before i had to get new struts and shocks i got reg monroe's they are good for road i know they prob are not good for offroad but i'll just be doing really light trail stuff mostly on road.. my question is that all these small lift kits say you can use your stock shocks/struts, but that confuses me.. do the stock ones pull out that much longer that you don't have to get bigger ones or am i totally out to lunch on how the whole setup will work...any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes, the stock shocks will extend to some degree. For on-road use, they may be OK, for off-road use, you may find the stock shocks to be too short to allow full suspension travel. You can always measure the travel you have now out of the shocks and see if they have any extra travel to allow for the lift.
