Ball Joints and OME Springs and shocks assembly order
I'm going to be replacing my ball joints at the same I'm installing my OME springs and shocks and was wondering about the best assembly order to make it go easiest.
I was thinking about the following.
1.Swap out both upper and lower ball joints but leave them disconnected from the upper and lower control arms.
2.Bolt the OME shock/struck assembly to the upper mount and to the lower control arm.
3. Then push the spindle and the lower ball joint into the lower control arm and install the crown nut and pin.
4. Put a jack under the lower control arm and jack it up and push down the upper control arm and push the upper ball joint stud through the control arm and install the crown nut and pin.
Anyone see any pitfalls with doing it in this order ?? I've seen where some people put a jack above the upper control arm to push it down to fit in the shock/strut. But this method looks like its really putting allot of force on the ball joint.
