Autoparts Warehouse and Core Returns

So i have been waiting to get the authorization to return my Caliper cores and here is what i get in an email. I dont know about you but i feel not so warm about these guys anymore--if I purchase from them again i think it will only be for items not requiring a core return!! Bottom line is what counts to me

CORE RETURN INSTRUCTIONS ONLY!
This email contains the instructions for returning your core only.

DO NOT SEND ANY OTHER NEW OR DEFECTIVE PARTS WITH YOUR CORE
SINCE YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT.

The following steps MUST be followed to receive a core credit.

1. Cores must be returned in the original box that the part was shipped in.
2. Cores that are physically damaged or altered will not be accepted.
3. Drain all fluids.
4. The return authorization number for your core is listed below. Write the return authorization number on the outside of the shipping box, not the core box, so the receiving department can identify your core return.
5. RA NUMBERS WILL EXPIRE 14 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF ISSUE.

We do not pay shipping charges for core returns; therefore you may choose the shipper and the service of your choice to return the core.

Please make sure you properly package your return. We cannot be responsible for items damaged or lost in shipment. We recommend that you insure your core for what it is worth (no responsibility taken for items uninsured) and use a carrier that can provide you with a tracking number for your core.

AFTER YOU RETURN YOUR CORE, CREDIT MAY TAKE UP TO 4 WEEKS.

Thank you for your business. It has been our pleasure to serve you.

thats pretty standard for a shipped core return. they don't want junk back and they may or may not use the box to help id the parts for a rebuild. refunds are just a PITA and do take a while.

i just consider the cost of shipping as an added expense to my buttom line--just think i might consider different avenues next time--maybe local. I know it was probably somewhere in the small print when i first bought it but i have never been a fan of small print.

Yes, true returns via mail are a PITA
