ARB or TJM?
well basically i was about to buy the TJM but am having a hard time deciding now. The ARB that corey has on his rig looks really really nice. here are a couple of pics from his post....
here
and here
the TJM is the T15 that XtremeOff-Road has on his. they both cost the same. The T15 i'd get from xtremeoff-road, the ARB from preformance products... like i said same price. i think the ARB looks a little better acually, now that i look at it on Corey's rig.
some pics of Xtreme's can be found here
and also ill attach them to the post.
so im kind of in a fix. just thinking it out. let me know what you think.

Thanks Rowan
That is a hard decision.
Both very well built bumpers.
If you had a 3rd gen 4Runner, I'd say go with the TJM, as the 4Runners have been using the Prado bull bar, and it was not exactly made for it, but it fits.
Ask Mr. Steve on that one.
ARB doesn't recommend the Prado bar anymore on account of it not fitting correctly.
What they told me is that they now tell folk's to use the Tacoma bar.
So in a nutshell, ARB doesn't exactly have a bull bar built specificaly for the 3rd gen 4Runners.
Now I have seen the Tacoma ARBs on their site, and it looks like it blends in well with the body.

The TJM's however are made for the 3rd gen 4Runners, and fit better.
Either one looks great.
You have more options though than Perf for the ARB unit.
Central 4WD
is where I got mine from.
And 4x4 Connection has ARB.

Yes, big decision.
2 great choices.

Like Corey says two great bumpers...too bad ARB will not color match the bars in the state like that picture you posted Corey. The way I see it is like this, call around to those different shops and see if they have any ARB Tacoma bars, there is a very good chance that they wont and the back order is several months. I think you will be pleased with either bar, whether it be the ARB or TJM. Best of luck!

One more thing.
On my year of ARB the tubes blend in good, just like On Mike's TJM.
Now look at the red Tacoma ARB. The wings go outward more, and then bend inward.
I actually prefer the wings on my style and Mike's better.
The part I am talking about it where the tube come down and connects to the bumper.
Ours come straight, while that red Taco bar angles inwards.
Just a prefernce on my part, I like the straight down way better.

I can't really decide either. To me they both look good. But I have a soft spot for TJM seeing that they are the only ones who took initiative to make a bullbar for my model of 4Runner.
But for you owning a Tacoma you don't have that problem. Mike made some good points in reasoning that if you want one now then TJM would be the one, otherwise you may have to wait awhile for the ARB.
Just my .02

i called central4wd, and the price is $100 less than pref prod. the shipping is $100, but might take less time than pref prod. they are supposedly getting some in next week, and then could ship them out. i tried calling 4x4 connection a couple of times, all lines were busy. ill try again on monday, and if not there then i guess ill go with central 4wd, seeing as they have a good price. if you see a tacoma without a bumper driving around, its probably me

Rowan, drooooooooool time
I was just on Mike's (smr4runner's) new website and he has some pics in the Naches trail section he did a few weeks back.
The president of the local WA. chaptor of TTORA has a nice Taco.
I got to see it in August at a Show & Shine event he put on down at our local Toyota dealer that I was also in, and Gene from the forum here.
Anyway, here is his Taco with 33" ties I beleive, and a super lift on it, and the ARB you want.
He also has a bracket fabbed up on his bumper for the onboard shower for the hoses.
A mod I will be doing sometime to my rig hopefully.
OK, it's OK if you drool a bit, we forgive ya
Corey
PS, Rowan...
There are more pics of Rob's '01 TRD Super Charged Taco here.

i thought i just replied to this.. but...
yeah i saw that on another post a second ago. its reallly really really nice. hopefully mine will look like that eventually. im looking at different kinds of lifts right now... im thinking about extra leafs in the rear.. and i dont know about the front. ill start a new thread on this when it gets closer to the time. any ideas for the front would be good though.
the ARB looks great. the TJM will look just as good though i think. i HOPE. ill try to get some pics, but i dont have a digital camera, and am too lazy to take pictures anyways. when/if i get a new computer ill get a digital camera with it.
