Callmej's 3.0 HG fix with pics

Gotta big project to tackle in 2 weeks and it will take a while doing it by myself. Getting a remanned motor and gotta switch everything over from the old motor then put it back in. I'm probably going to pull the old one this weekend in my father-in-laws garage because he has a big engine puller and air tools. If anyone is up to helping me tackle this thing in 2 days then I will try to provide any food and drinks possible to show my appreciation. I'm trying to get it back up to start driving it back to school and get my father-in-laws car back to him and try to make this Dolly Sods run since its a pretty mild one. Don't wanna run the new motor hard since its gotta have break in time. I will also be replacing my front cv's and probably converting over to manual hubs while I'm at it....along with tie rod ends...whatever is up front I can do if someone can help me on swapping the stuff off the old motor onto the new one. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

Well next week around Monday I'm ordering the motor and maybe next weekend I'm going to start the swap. Not in stone yet....only if the motor don't arrive in time for the weekend. If not the weekend of the 1st it will be the following weekend of the 8th. I am about 40 minutes away from Roanoke VA and 20 minutes outside of Wytheville VA.

Wish that I could help, but going to Virginia from Colorado could be a little rough. Hope you find some good help.

Let me know when you order the motor. My schedule is a little crazy these days, but maybe. I can also do some wheeling that way.

Well I'm going to try and order the motor on Monday and hopefully by next weekend it will be here and I can start the changeover process. I'll keep ya posted and if ya want to pm me your number and I'll give ya a call and confirm the delivery and start date. Gracias! Oh and I'll cover the cost of gas so don't sweat that

Awesome...Go to school by any chance? I go to NRCC every day so if you do then maybe sometime we could meet up and chat. I'm gonna take a stab before I buy the motor and call this racing engine place tomorrow and see how much they will charge me to rebuild the 3.0....if its about the same as a remanned motor then I'll just go for that and the only help I'll need is getting it out and back in

Sounds good man I'm going to tech after I finish up at nrcc. I've been past RU before and went to this girls apt right past RU. Cootees on here is in Roanoke and him and Renegade are going wheeling not this weekend but next. If you all wanna get together and help me break in the new motor...I just gotta take it easy on the new motor. It will be hard...BTW saw you were from middleburg, VA....I just moved from a place right outside of Jacksonville, FL called middleburg...ironic
