Question Anyone realign headlights after Silverstar install?

I thought I recall seeing a recent post that someone needed to re-aim their headlights following installation of Sylvania Silverstars. I installed mine today and both low and high beams seem to throw a bit shorter than the stock lamps did. The light output is definately brighter.

I didn't find anything with a search...

Thanks, UK, but that wouldn't be the case in this situation. I made no changes to the ride other than the lamps.

Maybe I'll just crank each horizontal adjuster up one turn/week untill people start flashing their hi beams! Then I'll back it down a turn. Think that'll work?

I am thinking that the OE bulbs splay the light more than the Silver Star bulb design. You should not have to re-adjust the aiming but I always will do it if it suits my driving needs ... call me Helen Keller.

When I bought my '99 the lamps aimed high, and on the '02 the lamps are just fine. I have tried several bulbs (off-brand Plasma, Cool Blue, Silver Star, PIAA Xtreme White) and never really found the need to make adjustments because of the bulbs. It is NBD.

I was the one who had to adjust his headlights after the SilverStar install. Since my stock headlights were getting so bad I had no idea how out of aim my driver's side headlight was. My passenger light was spot on but I had to raise the driver side and stop aiming it at the right curb! My driver headlight is pionted almost directly ahead but just below the level of the passenger headlight since I don't want to blind oncoming drivers.

I don't begin to understand how to aim these dang European headlamps but the FSM goes into pretty good detail on it if I remember correctly. The driver's side lamp is suppose to aim down and to the right but I aim the lights according to what works best for me and the heck with the guys in the Mini Coppers. What really frosts me is these people iin Furd Explorers who drive around all the time with their fog lights on. That's just too bright for me.

Mr Stern is talking e-codes here but he mentiones the aiming parameters for other headlight types. I was happy with my passenger light so I aimed my driver side to complement it.
