the IAT mod has been discussed on this board and other vehicle boards, and the conscenus is that its a waste of time, money, and might possibly do damage to your truck. the reasoning behind that is supposedly, it makes the engine think that it is running lean, so it dumps more gas into the cc is the theory, as the computer will try to compensate for that...... however in the real world, the computer knows what is going on and just bypasses that circuit all together when this happens due to the fact it thinks something is broken or tampered with, and will still run, but not at optimized performance

IAT mod

I like your custom piping, but I would never run an open cone filter like that. If I only drove on the street, then maybe. But most of us off-road here so that is actually a very risky design. Both from a dirt and water standpoint.

Personally, I would run your custom piping to the stock airbox and do the deckplate mod with an Amsoil filter. My .02.

Nice work on the piping though.

is this mod pure BS or will it work?

anyone know what type of diode/resistor it is

and into which port it should be plugged into? I would like to go to the local electronics store and pick one up.

any ideas on this? thanks

It does work but you can end up clogging up your O2 sensor much faster and again you will get worse gas mileage.

Just do the deckplate and amsoil filter like most have done and you'll get quite good results

It is not a one size fits all resistor value and that is why some tuning is involved and why you need a potentiometer (variable resistor). You find the right value for your truck and then get the appropriate value resistor if you want it to be permanent (otherwise just leave the potentiometer in place). Each truck is different so you need to do some work to get this one. The ones they sell on ebay suck bigtime for exactly this reason.
