Aimimg 4th gen. Headlights?
I've done a search and couldn't find anything for the 2003 4runner. I was in a small accident not too far back. The body shop replaced my left headlamp. This is when I decided to take advantage and add the foglights. I know that there is an adjustment that is visible on the back of the headlamp. I noticed that the is another adjustment screw back in the corner of the lamp. It is covered by a black top that sort of looks like a switch. The factory manual doesn't say anything about aiming them except for "take it to a dealership." I was wondering if any of you have those $150 dealership manuals, and could tell me what it says about, aiming the headlamps. What does the other black covered screw do? Is there a horizontal adjustment?
I could take back to the bodyshop that fixed it but they are in Miami. Also I was told that if my dealership finds out that I was in an accident, it would void certain parts of my warranty? :pat:
Thank you for the help guys.

Yes, that is the horizintal adjustment. According to the manual, you are supposed to turn the cover about 1/8 of a turn until the longer squareish tab is pointing at the back of the low beam lamp. This is supposed to unlock the adjustment screw. Then after making the proper adjustment, turn the cover back to the original position to lock the adjustment in place. As for how you determine the correct adjustment, you are supposed to make a white aiming surface on a wall and draw some grids that align with the center points of the lamps. Then park the vehicle about 3 meters from the wall and adjust the lights using the wall grid. The procedure takes over two pages in the manual to describe.
If you need the specifics, I will try to scan the pages and send them as a file. Let me know.

I would really appreciate it. I tried to mess with htem last night and I think I messed something up. I don't think that black lock is supposed to come off, so I think I screwed now. If I could see the how to set up that grid it would be help a lot.

Yosmany, I have the scans done, and converted them to jpg's, but they are still too large for the forum limits. Let me know where, and I will email them to you.
