Aftermarket cams?

I know this is kind of a broad subject to cover, but does has anyone seen any write-ups on cams? I found a shop in an off-road magazine, web camshafts. They make cams for all the tacoma and 4runner engines between 96-98 I believe. They say the cams can be custom grinded to your own specs, but I don't know where to start with this. If anyone has writes on all the variables come in to play( torque, horsepower, gas mileage, etc.) and how they all relate to each other when changing cams, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

E.L. Prototypes also has cams for our engines.
