Advice needed for pulling engine

Well I'm all set to pull my engine, and my neighbor comes over and says it wont work, that I have to drop everything (my tranny, t-case, driveshaft). I was just leaving the tranny in the truck, I took the bolts off the engine block (four) two at the bottom and two on top that connect the tranny to the engine (bell housing). I thought that this would be good enough. My question is, is it good enough or do I have to drop everything. I saw a couple of engine out on the boards with the tranny still in the truck, am I missing something? How do I just pull out my engine with the bell housing still on the tranny? Advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Mario

It will work just fine. You will want a jack or something to support the front of the tranny by the bell housing while the engine is out of the truck. But other then that it should be no problem at all with the 5spd. If it was auto you would need to unbolt the torque converter from the fly wheel(flex plate) first before you yank the engine.

as arb said no problem, just support the tranny, make sure everything is disconnected that needs to be. Also I've never worked on a 22 but there should be more than 4 bolts in the bellhousing, and make sure you pull the starter to.

no just support it with a jack or jack stand, no need to pull the tranny or driveshaft. Tell your neighbor he works on to many ricers
