96 Toyota 4Runner Shock question.

96 Toyota 4Runner Shock question.
I'm trying to put togeather a new suspension for a 96 4Runner, stock bumpers, average weight load, etc.
The question I have is with the Bilstein 5100 adjustable shock. I know that they will physically bolt onto my runner. But how will they ride? I read conflicting things, saying they are valved to soft, but some websites sell them for the 1st gen tacos and the 3rd gen Runners as the same shock. Opinions? I looked on Bilstein's website to try to "match" some part #'s, but can't find any listings for these year vehicles.
Thanks

Another thought:
Even OME, per wheelers website, uses model #'s N91s and N91sc for both the taco and 4Runner. Seems the weight of the vehicles would be about the same. I can't see the front of a Double cab weighing that differently than the front of a 4Runner?
