800 miles trouble free this weekend

Thought I would pass along that I drove my 94 800 miles this weekend pulling a trailer and didn't have a lick of trouble. I went up to the Canadian border at Vancouver BC to pick up a motorcylce I bought and I towed it all the way home on a trailer. My mileage sucked pulling that thing though. There is a huge pass between here and there and the wind was blowing something fierce for most of my journey across WA state. My high was about 16 mpg and for one tank I only got 9 I ran the Runner hard too in the headwinds. At one point I drove for 2 hours with my foot on the floor in 4th gear at 65 mph and the 3.0 purred like a kitten. I was feeling good on the way home because on this trip I saw a totalled avalanche (rolled 3 times down the center median in the grass between freeway lanes), 3 Heeps all with the hood up (mostly older cherokees) , and a newer blazer that overheated pulling a dinky U-haul trailer over the pass. I waved as I went by pulling my trailer at a whopping 45 mph in 3rd gear. I love the 3.0 but I was grossly reminded on this trip why I need more power. Not being able to accelerate on flat ground sucks!!! (pulling trailer in a 35 mph headwind)

Thats good to hear...mine hauls well just slow. I wish the Runner had the acceleration power of my dads Chevy when haulin anything more than a 4-wheeler...but I can live with it.

Gotta love the reliability of Toyota though...

Yeah, either wednesday night or thursday morning I'll be going home. It's 700 miles each way and I average it in about 10 hours depending on the weather. Through Montana I cruse at 80-85 and my yota keeps running strong. I also have to say that it's one of the most comfortable, truck or car, that i've driven. As for the power, well lets just say that there are some interesting passes that I have to go over that are 6,000 feet and one that's over 7,000 ft. When that 3.0 gets up higher in the atmosphere it REALLY looses power.
