LOL again........
Turbo=power above 3000 RPM, turbo lag, heat....really tough problem that will in the end be costly and suffer from reliability issues....Momie...why is the hood of my truck burned? Why is there a hole in number 6 piston?
Supercharger=power from idle, simpler application, more reliable and much more affordable. Simply draw a intake plenum on Pro/E or similar 3D CAD, get it right and search for an off the shelf blower. Cobble up the small stuff and you are in business.
My $0.02

Eh,
I wouldn't totally rule it out... BUT, it definitely is a go hard or go home sort of deal when it comes to turbos. Wether it be a full blown kit or custom. Turbos are far superior, but its going to cost you. As for them only making power over 3k? Maybe if your making a power monster, but with a properly sized turbo it would spool much faster. We aren't dealing with a sub 2L engine here. If all you want is 10lb of boost then a K04 would be plenty and seeing as a 1.8L can spool with hardly any lag at all I don't see why a motor 3/4 bigger couldn't do it... The problem is that if people are going to spend the money to add a turbo they want a big one, with big power, which means more lag... The real problem is that we are spoiled by a cheap bolt on option (The TRD S/C). In most applications there isn't an option less than $5k to get a proper kit.
