4WD "Light" not working

I cannot get the 4wd indicator light to display in the instrument cluster. I have changed the bulb behind the cluster several times so I know the bulb is good. I have the "On-Demand" 4wd with the push button on the side of the shifter. I just bought this truck so I dont know much about how this all works. the 4wd does engage so its just the light that dosent work. As soon as I hit the 4wd button the light briefly comes on for a split second and then just remains off. Please help thanks in advance.

check the switch in your shifter..

if not that..trace the wires up to the cluster and make sure all are good

if not that..check the 4wd indicator switch on the T-case..

Thanks for the replies I will check the wiring I just wasnt sure why it would come on sometimes and just go right back off. At lunch today i got it to come on by holding in the clutch and then hitting the button but I tried it again after that but it never came on some im not sure what is going on.
