4 th gen radio remote for rear
I thought you could listen to the radio in front and the kids in rear listen to another station.
Am I doing something wrong?
If I change channel in front it changes in the rear headphones. If kids use the remote to change thiers it also changes mine in front.
thanks

Ray,
Let me give this a shot. This is my understanding of the rear audio system:
The rear system or unit on the ceiling operates with the wireless headphones only. The only sound transmitted through the rear audio is to these headsets. The rear remote can be changed to the main source of sound and change your station. With the headphones, the source can be changed to operate only the rear system. I think this is kind of half a##ed, but once you have the headphones, its pretty cool.
The other vehicles that I know of who have this same type of system have rear headphones but come with a cable and standard headphone jack that plugs in. Toyota chose to go with the wireless ones instead which is good IMHO.
They run about $40. I say they're definitely worth it if you spend more than a couple of hours on the road with kids or travel on weekends.
I hope this helped you. If not, let me know and I'll try to be more clear.

I don't think you can set and listen to different radio stations on the front and rear audio.
The only advantage of the rear audio is that your back passengers can switch and listen to another source other than the one playing in front.
Mine works perfectly with my kids as they can listen to their kind of music on the radio and I can play my favorite cds up front.
