i saw this on summit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SP...c2.7L%2f2694cc and it says it works on 4 cyl tacomas so it should work on my 4runner. and i was wondering if i would get anything out of it other then that "cool" ricey open air intake sound lol? and i was going to use it with a cone filter sense thats what its designed for.

If you plan to keep it in the garage all winter in Vermint you will be fine.

Once the temps drop below that magic number and water gets solid if you have lots of moisture in the air. Those white things falling out of the sky.

I have had these cone filters freeze up solid. Enough that I thought the fuel froze It does not take long till the under hood temps to thaw it out.

It was such a pain I switched back to the stock set up I had bought the car with it set up like that. This was a 22REC I can`t see all that much difference in a 3.0 or 3.4

I have not had a chance to see what happens once it gets a little cooler somewhere down below zero.

You mountain West people feel free to chime in here Northern Canada An option run it in the summer go back to stock in the winter

if you wanted to get even more out of it you will need to do ISR mod as well. Here is a link its also the deckplate mod if you decide to go that route http://www.trdoffroad.com/articles/deckplate/index.php ISR is at the bottom of the page think he just puts tape over it lol

I just cut out the whole front section of the air filter box on my 3.4...it's free! I did notice a small increase in acceleration and about a 1.5-2 mpg improvement.

there is like no space to do any of the things you guys mentioned on my air box, because its tiny and fairly wide.

It won't give you even 1 HP more and you're tinkering with what the engineers at Toyota thought was best for your vehicle. Horsepower gains with these type of mods are imaginary.

Save your money, spend it on routine maintenance items and factory parts.

i can do what i want with my vehicle. and i can gain horse power if i do it in conjunction with other things like exhaust upgrade so you sir are wrong, its olny like 20 bucks to do the deck plate mod anyway so your not realy losing that much money.

Waste of money. A good foam filter and an intake arm might give you a modicum of power, but this piece of junk looks like a waste of time.

ya just from what wyoming said about the snow made me think other wise, i think i might make the intake pipeing alittle bigger (like 1/2in) and take off the intake silencers, i already have a k&n filter but it hasent had the right oil in it sense i bought the vheicle. do you think i would see atleast a throttle response change and maybe mpg increase?

I didn't see or hear much difference when I put on my Airaid intake tube and Truflow filter. I imagine it might benefit a supercharger, because headers certainly do, but the stock engine is just to lazy to need much more flow than what it already gets. A foam airfilter is great, though. Paid for itself a dozen times over, and no chance of MAF destruction.

You may run into MAF problems with that K&N.

the only problem i have with my runner as of now is that when i start it it runs real rough like im missing on a cylinder or two but then straightins out after like 10 sec. but i doudt that has anything to do with the k&n filter.

i have a full k&n in my 99 3.4 4runner, i did notice a difference. i also like how loud it is.
