Talking 3rd Gen 4Runner Light Bar

Paul at Defiant Truck Products just finished my light bar, he has two sizes, short and long and can configure with different number of light tabs. This is with 3 of the 7" Kragen HID's.

Forgive the crappy cell phone pics, I'm sure he'll add the nicer pics to his website soon...

Damn skippy!!!! That looks good. I just e-mailed Paul this morning tell him how much the 3rd gen crowd needs a light bar. I am so glad I did not pull the trigger on a bull. Definitely getting one as soon as it is available. When I read on another forum that he made light bars for 4th Gens. Since I was curious, I went on their website and it said they were in the process of testing and fitting.

How many sizes is he gonna make available???

Thanks!!!

I'm sooooo stoked, there are 2 sizes right now, a short bar and long bar, I decided to go with the long bar. He has uploaded his pictures up to his site, and they are a lot better quality then my cell phone pics.

curious why those would only fit the 96-98 model years....

Note: Defiant needs other Yota vehicles for fitments - see link:

These light bars, bolt to laser cut brakets that "snake" thru the bumper openings to mount to the frame, and as we found out while Paul was developing it the brackets he has developed on the different model Tacoma's were close, but not right...so each iteration has to be independently developed.

One of the reasons I really like this light bar, is due to the attention to detail that Paul showed while he worked on this...I think I was in the shop 4 times before everything was good and he sent the parts out to get powder coated....

I wish this was available a year ago, would have just picked one of these up instead of mounting on an ARB.

I asked the same question to Paul and he needed pictures of my 2000 Limited since I have the fat lip bumper. Since it is final exams this week, I am little busy. I will send him all kinds of angles shots of my bumper as soon as I can. But from what he said, he does not see fitment being an issue.

That looks great!! It shows just enough of the bar to make it aesthetically correct and balanced with the rest of the front end.
NICE WORK!!
