3rd Gen 4runner or Land Cruiser FZJ80? For a DD with 2 under 18 months?

The nice car is mostly spoiling my wife, I like the way the 4runner drives. Space is fine with one kid and a dog (we can't imagine having another kid anytime soon anyway) so I will stay with the 4runner for now. I always liked the FJ62, but I am sure the wife would be even less interested in that experience
2 kids under 18 months, I don't where you guys get your energy from, I feel pretty tired by just one 9 month old.

2 this close together is kinda rough at times. We think it will pay off in the long run since they are both girls we hope they will play together be best friends etc.
Wife says, we might try for one more. (This after she swore we would quit after another c-section this time) I tols her we need to wait. I am mainly scared b/c what if its another girl! I dont mind being a little out numbered but 4 to 1 is a little crazy!
Think I am crazy with 2 under 18mo, there is a guy on ih8mud.com who has 3 under 3yrs old!

I have to go with a HI miledge Sequoia, Its my next SUV purchase, for the fact that it is great on Reliability and a GREAT car to haul the family around, SUPER SAFE- side impact airbags, and side curtain airbags, plus frontal air bags, AND 3rd row seating, coupled with a iforce v8.
Theres not really anything that makes me WANT a MINI VAN . I am sticking to that, I hope you do to.

Exactly what I would do. The kids can hang in there a couple of years in the back seat of the 4Runner. While it may be convenient to have the ability to accomodate another couple of adults plus the kids, I'm betting this situation doesn't happen frequently enough to justify the extra money and additional risk you'll incur if you go with the older LC.
Oh, and as for the minivan? Thank God the wife and I have a "no minivan" pact.

If you can afford it and if maintenance to you is not an issue, then I highly recommend to get the 93 LC specially with that price and if it has the optional front and rear locking differentials, then you luck out.
I have both the Runner and the LX450. Between the two I love driving the LC since it has more power than my 94 Runner. You can fit 7 persons in the cruiser. Keep the Runner and buy the Cruiser for the wife as DD, or look for another Cruiser made from 95 to 97.

Thanks again for everyones advice. We passed on the 93 fzj80. Just too old for us and unknowns on # of owners as well as maint records.
It did not have lockers, that was the 1st thing I checked.
We are going to just wait a few years for now and see what the future holds with more kids, etc. Then take the 100 series plunge if need be.

When my family jumped from 3 kids to 5, I bought a rear seat for my '98 runner from www.littlepassengerseats.com. Came with matching fabric, shoulder belts, head rests. Its terribly easy to take in and out. Nice to be able to wheel with the whole family on board.

For now, I am just going to keep an eye open and when the deal is there I will go for it. Maybe gas will make it to $3.50 this summer and the prices for 80 and 100 series will drop even more
