I am very new to Toyota's, especially 3rd gen. 4Runners, so bare with me. I have been participating in forums for a long time now, so I know the first thing you guys are going to say is do a search. But when I search for these topics I mostly get 1st or 2nd gen. 4Runner info which is not helpfull. With that said I will ask my question.

I own a 1999 Black 4Runner. I am looking into a lift kit that is reliable, and gives me the results I am looking for. I use my car primarily(sp?) for street and very rairly off road, maybe once or twice a week, but not hardcore stuff, just messing around in the mud or up hills, no rockcrawling. I would like to fit some 33" tires with no rubbing, probably BFG's or MT's. Which lift would you guys recomend.

I just put an OME suspension lift on mine for about $600 and I should have done it first thing when I bought the rig in retrospect. I researched all the various ways to get lift and the OMEs seemed like the best daily driver ride with some off-road flex for the money. I also have a 2" RB body lift, which will clear 33s all by itself with some minor fender well trimming. ive got the Revtek. i only went this way for the price and because i was impatient. Although Ive had no problems with this lift, i would probably go OME if i had to do it again. You might want to look into a RB 1'' BL if you want to run 33s on stock wheels with no rubbing. Im not sure though.

I'd say since you won't be doing any crazy offroading stuff, stick w/ the cheaper lift ideas. Go with the spacer technology in which I recommend Cornfed Suspension (www.cornfedsuspension.com). After that it's a toss up between Revtek and Daystar. All three are great spacers but I really like the Cornfed's the most between the three (personal preference).

As for tires, I'd say 285's are the most you want to get. It's a hair smaller than a 33 but you won't notice the difference.

I have a little of each. I have the Revtek front and OME rear. I like the way it performs, but when or if I get a winch I will probably switch to the OME on the front. You should consider a 1" body lift if you want to put 33's. I rubbed pretty often without the body lift, now I rarely rub.
