22re A/C Belt Removal

in my 85' runner the a/c doesnt work so i was wondering if i could just simply cut off the belt to the condensor....would it be worth it to cut it off or can i even remove it?

I am thinking the same thing. removing the belt shouldnt hurt any thing, right????? can some one please confirm, thanks

That should be fine... might as well remove the A/C equipment if you don't plan on using it any longer.

If the belt is in good shape, I'd remove it rather than cut it up.

No problem taking the A/C belt off, but no real advantage either. When the A/C isn't on the only the front of the pulley is spinning, the compressor isn't engaged. Removing all the A/C would remove some weight but overall I wouldn't expect great gains in power or gas mileage.
