2002 tail lights and hood scope

Where is the best place to buy? I am interested in both tail lights and the hood scope. Maybe we could have a group buy?

It does look more like a scope than a scoop... Paul, those are dealer only items. There may be some online dealers selling cheaper than your local stealer...I don't think dealers have group buys for OEM stuff. Good luck, those are items most 3rd gens without...really want.

Shindler and others have added the hood scoop. I believe the parts were around $400 from Toyota. I believe painting is extra. They look great but are not finctional. Also, they disrupt air flow.

you mean it disrupts air flow because it sticks out...would you say it's worth it because it looks good....????

If it looks good to you do it. I'm sure I have done things to my truck that are not agreeable to someone else. Customizing your truck the way you want it is what it's all about. I'm just an old street racer where hood scoops were an integral part of the performance. No doubt the Toyota scoop looks good. Personally, I would love to have the scoop and make it functional.

Now if I had the hood scoop and a supercharger under it, hmmmm....

Enjoy!

They are talking about the hood scoop that comes on the SR5 Sport models.

I replaced my std. hood for a hood scoop- (I think Toyota calls it the bulge), but I have a hood deflector which I believe diverts the air over the scoop and windsheild.

So in order to get the hood scoop...you have to replace the entire hood right? W/ a hood that has the scoop? So in essence, you're not just adding a scoop...but replacing the entire hood..?

I really like how it looks...and my hood has some permanent marks on it (The original owner..well really he leased it..was some old guy who didn't drive it much...and i believe there was bird $h*t on the hood..and it didn't get cleaned off for a long time, so the acid ate away at the paint..and thus, left permanent marks) so i needed to get it re-painted anyways..so maybe this'll be the route i take instead..

Anyone go for the strawberry and mint chocolate chip scoop, shoot I do a group buy on that! They are extremely functional (in my mouth) and even give cold air intake! Good for at least 30 hp (or it may seem like it if you have the runs and run to the bathroom)...hehe. Anyone in??

There is an article somewhere about someone making the hoodscope functional if you so desire. Corey may have the link. Like everyone said, you do gotta buy the hood with the scoop attached and paint it (Maaco is always a cheap place).

I have been thinking about adding a hood scoop to my stock hood. Though I don't know how much it was cost, yet. I have researched a couple fiberglass scoops. here are the links to the companies:
http://www.erebunicorp.com/
http://www.spydarauto.com/
These require cutting a hole in your exisiting hood and "molding" the scoop in with fiberglass and resin. The finished product is not only functional, but it also looks bada$$.

Corey that link is broken? Id love to take a look at that site, my friend is intent on making my scoop functional with a ram air system, (That is once I get it )

I pulled up to a later 3rd gen today with a hood scoop in the passenger seat of my friends 98 pathfinder. Rolled down the window, got the driver's attention, and asked her if she would like to swap hoods. I tried to put a salesman's pitch on it, saying things like, wouldn't you like to get rid of that annoying hood scoop? She laughed and shook her head, but worth a try right?

The reason his site is not working right now is too many people have accessed it.
That is why Geocites, Tripod, and a few other sites suck for websites.
Get any decent amount of traffic on it, and it shuts down.

You can pay a fee though that will allow you more bandwidth to prevent this, and it will also allow you to post pics from these sites to forums.

Maybe a bit later his site will be available. It was working an hour ago.

Hey, that also sounds like a great pick up line for that woman with the 'Runner
