I am asking for some help for trying to diagnosis my 2001 toyota 4runner Sr5 problem.

Long story here, needed new tires, bought them. Ever since the new tires, car has been shaking while driving, gets really bad at highway speeds. I have been to Hibdons 6 times in a week, they have taken tires off, put tires on, rotated, whole new set. Still doing it. They have told me that it is NOT the tires. My fiance thinks it may be the U-joint??

Im not sure, new problem, when shifting from park to drive, it clicks. Sounds like two pieces of metal being hit together.
It does not click with any other gear shift. P to R, R to N, N to P, D to P. It is only from P to D.

Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? Has anyone else had this same problem?

Well if the only thing you changed was the tires I have a hard time believing they balanced them properly. Find a shop with a Hunter machine and have them do the balancing. I had a similar issue with new tires once with my 00, it took the place 3 times to get them right. As for the tranny can't really say.

Sounds like a u-joint to me....check for play.
