2000 4Runner: Highlander?

Howdy all. I've been stalking Yotatech forums since purchasing my first 4Runner a couple months back. Needless to say, the YJ is garaged.

I am curious about a few things relating to my 4Runner. One of those pertains to the Highlander or Sport package for the 2000 year model and how to find out if I happen to have it with my SR5.

I've looked online and the info has been available but not clear. At this time the only thing I'm sure of is my SR5 is v6, auto, 4wd, locked, leather, pwr sunroof, and sexy metallic silver. The other thing she does have that may give indication is her hood scoop. Also, she's a badass..

Are there other indicators I can look for?

Bigger fender flares like the limited and 265-70-16 alloy wheels... I believe

Here's the wife's 2k.

No locker, no leather.

I don't recall... But in 2000 I think the available colors were:

Silver
Green
Black

I found this: http://www.top4runners.com/ja/highlander.html

Sport hood is a dead give away. If it has a sport hood and painted bumpers and grill, it's guaranteed to the a Highlander.

A Highlander she is, then. Lucky me; her value just increased and she is still stock except for tires. I think they are 275/70/16.

Thanks for the responses and link and helping me answer this all important question (to me). Next up, how did she become so poetic...

To be hands down HazMike research the color coding on the coil springs. Highlander edition springs are 1" taller and have paint markings on them. I'm sorry I don't recall those but they only produced those in 99' and some in 00' before the lawyers got a hold of it and Toyota lowered them after that. I have a 99' highlander and the only difference is it is emerald green and smaller black plastic fender flares.

i recall the '99s had the slightly higher springs and people complained saying it was difficult to get in and out... so, toyota used lower springs in the 2000 model.

i have since replaced the stock suspension on the wife's 2000 with performance products (no longer available) lift springs and bilstein shocks.

that combo raised the 4runner just under 2".

in the pic i provided the tires are BFG 265x70x16. those have been replaced with BFG 265x75x16.

i wanna say that the 2001 to 2002 4runner got even lower with shorter springs but can't be certain.
