1986 TURBO diesel 4x4 Vs 1990 22-RE 4x4
In 1986 the toyota model name was "extra-cab" for the pick-up.
In 1990 what was the model name for the "extra-cab" 22 re 5-spd.
what option upgrades were on the 1990 vs the 1986?

The Diesel Part
The diesel was run in them from 1984 to 1986 or was it 1987? yeah and i think it was a 2.4L, but i wonder is the engine was mADE by Toyota? and also what the engine name or code was.

They are defenately Toy engines, and I am pretty sure '86 was the last year over here. The rest of the world has had them all along up until now. I think the code might be 2LT or something, just from memory. Do a search on google and I am sure more will come up.

toyota defnitely makes their own diesels. the model of the truck isn't "xtra cab" but that's a package. the model name was simply known as "pickup" or "compact truck" from the mid 70s until it was replaced by the tacoma in north america. everywhere else knows the pickups as "hilux"
