15K Mile Service
I was wondering what you guys think about the 15k mile service from your respective dealership...from the dealer i deal with it is $199.95...i want to see what the consensus is about if it is worth it or not...i just feel like i wouldnt know if they even do half the things that are on the list to be checked...all opinions are welcome...thanks

that's pricey. i got my 15k service at the dealer too, and it was $160. but i got my 30k service at a local toyota specialty shop, and they're nice guys and did a good job, much better value. a lot of guys here will tell you you can do it yourself with a little automotive knowledge, so there's that option too. i change my oil and some other minor things, but so far i've been taking it to the pros for the major service.

Just do it yourself.
It is nothing more then fluid changes and inspections.
Use your maintenance supplitment book that you got with your owner's manual and do every thing on the list and check it off and sign the sheet. That will doccument the work done and protect your warranty. You will save a bunch of money and make sure it is done right.

Two things to keep in mind with that line of thinking, 'grease is cheaper then steel".
And, if you do not do and doccument ther required maintenance work you may end up kissing your warranty good by.

Thanks for the help...definitely gonna save the money and just do it myself. Question...do you recommend getting the repair manuals? Are they worth the money?

ABSOLUTELY!
On my way out of date links page, I have the 800 number for ordering the manuals. I would get the factory service manual and the wiring diagram book.
