'03 Philips Premium Lamps
Wanting as best performance I can get out of my lights and hearing that the Philips "Premium" is a better light than the Sylvania SS's I ordered a set of 9006 sized/low beam lamps for my 2003 via http://www.autolamps-online.com/home.htm @ 17.20 USD (each) shipping included.
Autolamps did well, they had the lowest price and they are in the UK, yet the bulbs showed in 7days !
However, the bulbs are marked "51watts" and have a yellow stripe*. The box is marked as "Premium" and "12v 51w" but also "12,8v 55watts."**
I installed a lamp in my right low beam and noticed exactly ZERO difference between it and the stock/OEM/Sylvania's*** I tried it up close and on the street... Nil difference, you cannot tell one from the other.
* The OEM/Sylvania's have the same yellow strip/o-ring... The pic's I have seen of the Philips Premium show it w/ a red or maroon o-ring. Basically, the Philips looks exactly like the OEM/Sylvania except for name and where it is made.
** Note that in Europe they use commas as periods... Marked as 12,8 equals 12.8 in US. I don't understand how things would be different.
***No difference from either the drivers POV or oncoming POV.

JGage,
Thanks for the information. I have gone back and forth on whether to swap mine out but from the others who have swicthed, thier comments, and yours; it sounds, like a wash at best.

On the 2003 models (9006 and 9007 bulbs) I didn't see any difference, either. Thought it was just my eyes.
On the positive side, now I have a backup in case a bulb goes out.

3.4v6,
Of course you do, it's a brighter bulb than the Premium... I'll try the VP's when they size them for the '03.
Luckily I applied logic and just ordered a pair, I was going to buy a full set. I think maybe I should have ordered one high beam and one low beam... But, as "j" said... Now I have spares.
