Question '03 18" wheels on 3rd Gen

Does anyone know if the 18" wheels for the '03 4Runner will fit on the -'02 4Runner?

wow I didn't know the new 03's came w/ 18s!!!!

actually they come w/ 17s....

and it should fit fine as the size of the wheel/tire combo is exactly the same as the current 16s on the 4runner

I have heard of Enkei 18 inchers as a port install for some regions. A little too low profile for what I would want, but they do look pretty good...

Your right, it is a port installed option. I know that it is offered in FL. They probably offer it on any cars that come from the Jacksonville port.

My 18" Volks fit fine. It's all about the tire size. Mine are 285/60/18 (31.5 over all diameter) and they rub a little on the inner fender well when turn the wheel alot at slow speeds. They '03's should have a 6 bolt pattern just make sure you get a 55 or 50 series tire so as the overall diameter will be 29 or so. Hope this helps.

I just received a bulletin from CONICELLI PARTS CENTER .....

""" TRD 18†Wheel/Tire Package for Tundra ,Sequoia and 4Runner Now available from TRD is a new 18†x 9†Wheel/Tire Package for Toyota Tundra, Sequoia and 4Runner. Aluminum constructed and finished in brilliant silver, the 8-spoke TRD wheel features a carbon-fiber style center cap with TRD logo. Matched with the wheels are Michelin Cross-Terrain tires (P275/55R18). http://www.partznet.com/toyota/tundra/trd%2018'%20wheel%20package.html """"

So, I was curious as to whether the wheels would cross over. Does anyone know what the back spacing is on both the -'02 and the '03?

With all due respect, do you know from what you are saying or is this just an intelligent assumption?

I wish two guys could get together, one with a '03 and one with the POS the rest of us are driving and swap wheels on both the front and rear to see if they fit ... PLEASE

took a look at that page of the 18" rim.

your question is if this rim/tire will fit your 4runne right?

well to sum it up the old fashion way:

these rims fit:

2000- current Tundra
2001- current Sequoia
2003 4Runner only

your stock POS is the same as the current gen tacoma rim which is the same as the current tundra rim.

THUS: IT SHOULD FIT.

why they wrote 03 4runner only? I DUNNO.

But if you don't believe me, I know someone will chime in and say the same thing. If you still don't believe me, you can find someone that lives in your area to have them literally swap out their rim and see if it fits w/ yours.

good luck!

damn $1949.00?!?!?! friggin expensive ehe?

if ya got the cash, might as well spend it!

just cuz i got a new 03 doesn't mean i don't know anything!

Good Times ...

Thanks for the logic sequence ... I am still trying to figure out what you said. :pat:

If it were all about outboard motors, then I would have no problem finding someone to swap wheels with but here I think we only have one '03 on the Island right now.

I don't fault you for having an '03 Runner. You could trade it in while it is still in one piece and get one of those Jeep Liberties.

Listening for the chimes .....

2002's are 4 3/8" (as are all 3rd gen 16's, I believe)

I have no idea on the 2003's.

Okay I'll make it simple for ya.

The stock 02 4runner rim is the same as the stock 02 tacoma rim.

The stock 02 tacoma rim is the same as the stock 02 tundra rim.

The stock 02 tundra rim fits those 18" rims you're looking into.

Now looking at the chart, it says that it fits tundra/and 03 4runner.

well if it fits the tundra rim then it has to fit your 4runner too!!!!

As for trading it my 4runner in, NEVER... unless it's for a newer 4runner or any toyota but a FRIGGIN HEEP? geez what kind of insult is that?

I can say that in the stock for, the new 03 4runners can go anywhere a 02 4runner can. The added benefit is that we get the cool v8 (5 speed auto) too It flys! Believe Motor trend or someone said 15.? quarter mile? (not sure if it's that fast but alot faster than the 3rd gen 4runners...)

anyway... let's not bash the yota's... that's just pain retarded!

hope that explanation makes sense.... it can't get simpler than that.

Hmmmm. Would the 18'S fit the Liberty?

SERIOUSLY ... I never bash anyone's ride, wife or anything they do. BUT, tell me, do you have the flat charcoal cladding?

JUST KIDDING

BTW, 15.0 is a respectable ET for a truck as heavy as the '03 is in stock dress.

yeah I have the "ugly @ss" cladding...

actually since I take my 4runner out on the trails, the cladding actually is saving me from alot of headaches! if I didn't have em, I know my sides would be pretty ugly by now! hehe

This is off the subject, but I have this theory that since the cladding was not well accepted and since Toyota has, I believe, discontinued it on future production, the Runners with cladding are going to be rare and desireable. I love the cladding on the Volvo X Country ... talk about ease of maintenance. I cringe everytime I park my car in a parking lot, hoping I don't get dinged.

Does anyone know if original 2003 16" Tundra rims would fit a 2000 4Runner that currently has 15" rims? My 4Runner is looking a bit small for its size and I've got a good deal on 5set of 03' Tundra 16" rims. Someone help a newbie out?
