Well I havent' got pulled over with mine yet....or my clear tail-lights. and I have been stopped for "other" thing's in the last month and they didn't say anything about my lights...but the police where I live focus more on the auto-theft epidemic vs the modded scene. The projectors make the beams balance so the glare isn't all over the place...so I would say No...not magnets. As long as the beam is projected at the road properly you shouldn't have any problems.

There's one anal cop where I live that has pulled me over multiple times for my white LED corner lights being "too blue". Never gave me a ticket, but I ended up replacing them with amber LEDs just to make him happy. Funny thing was he actually compared them to my projectors saying that it didn't match the color, so he had no problem with them.

I am just drooling over those pics.

I had laser eye surgery last Christmas and my ability to see at night has not really come back as much as I had hoped. I have been thinking about popping in some 80/100w bulbs to help the situation but seeing yall's HIDs is really tempting me to go that direction.

If you do it right (w/projectors) it's definitely hard to beat HID. Plus, they only draw 35w when on

One of the things I like most is how much side to side visibility there is compared to halogen lights. Projectors really spread the light out evenly, and since there is soo much extra light AND it isn't shooting up into space and everyone elses eyes, the benefits are awesome... for EVERYONE.

wondering if anyone has pics of the harness that has to be unplugged for drl disconnect in 2000 4runners. i have added the hi/lo hids and tried unplugging one of the harnesses by the box thing close to battery but drl's stay on.

If you search the forum someone had posted the picture awhile back. Its just a tiny box beside the fender, I had no problem disabling them for my HID's.

i actually dont need pics its pretty obvious where the box is. i recently installed a hi/lo hid kit on my 2000 4runner. i'm not sure if all the kits are the same but the way mine wires in it plugs into the factory headlight harness on the dr/batt side and then runs from that side to the pass side headlamp leaving the pass side headlamp harness unplugged. i tried unplugging the resistor box, tried removing the drl fuse, and still the drl's remain on. what other options do i have? anyone else had this problem or know how to solve it? i really want to stay away from cutting wires.

Newbie here just got a 99 4Runner and was wonder If I got HID's and wanted to install to stock caseing will it damage or get to hot. I Would love to do the Projector Look I have an 08 Mazda3 with stock HID Projectors and when I got my 4Runner couldn't see anything with Halogen.. How easy is it to do retro kit for someone mechanicly retarted or not very good at those type of projects?

hey there, i was just wondering if you have the hi/lo hid's i guess they are called bi xenon. they actually plunge in and out for the high beam effect. they also have a relay that has to be installed with power off the the batt or 12volt supply. i tried unplugging that resistor box by the batt but didnt stop the drls from coming on. so then i had to go under the dash above the gas pedal and cut the black w/ yellow stripe wire from the drl module. that finally disabled my drl's. sucks i had to cut a wire but i figure that becasue the hi/lo bi xenons have a relay inline with separate power off the batt/12 volt supply that the resistor box next to the batt becomes null/void. i just would like to clarify that for my own curiousity. also my 4runner is a 2000 from the US and from what i have researched the 2001 and up dont even have the "magic box" by the battery you have to cut a wire above the gas pedal. but the drl box above the gas pedal in a 2001 is supposed to be black and the wire you cut is in a different spot on the connector the my 2000 that has a grey drl box above pedal.
