Talking vlaborde's 1995 4Runner Build-Up Thread

During the summer of 2010, got myself a 1995 4Runner SR5 2WD Auto. as a transport for my mountian bike and for weekend trips to the beach or mountains.

I had only put some gasoline in it and basic maintenance during this past year. But after finding yotatech, I´ve become obsessed with turning my SUV into a 4x4 manual tranny monster!

Began searching for a donor vehicle, wish me luck!

Ordered a ball joint lift and rear coil spacers, LSVP and Panhard brackets. Hopefuly will get them on the mail this week. Installed a Magnaflow muffler, 15x10 wheels and BFG AT 31x10.5 tires.

Check out some pics!
All stock

Added some new wheels and 31 tires

Future plans:

Install cold air intake
Install 33x12.5 tires
New shocks
Install oem roof rack
2WD to 4WD conversion

Today I took the runner out for a short spin since it had been almost a week without hittin the road. All the sudden I see something hangin below, this is what I found...

I´m guessing something ripped that wiring out during an off road drive last week.

Also found a half bolted screw under the tranny, tried to bolt it back but it was already tight. I didn´t see any leaks so left it alone.

Found this plug under the truck, anyone know what it is?

Got a nice surprise today on the mail, 4crawler goodies! 1.5¨ ball joint spacers and 2¨ rear spring spacers, LSVP and Panhard brackets. Will install next weekend.

This afternoon installed some clear lights on the bumper and corner lights. Corner lights came with chrome trimming but will paint it black as well as the grill.

Also changed some cracked bushings.

My favorite sticker, got it from my girlfriend who calls my runner ¨the piglet¨

My 1991 pickup also has those wires hanging down, I just zip-tied them up and out of the way.

Just finished installing the BJ lift, rear coil spacers and panhard bracket from 4crawler. Pretty easy installation. Here´s some pics...

Monday will take it for some aligment and torsion bar adjustment. Next to come, new 33¨ tires and oem roof rack. Also installed a set of Hella 500 Black lights on the front bumper.

So Ive been having problems with the torsion bar adjustment. The POwner seems to have played around with them, the drivers side was cranked up and the other side was almost loose.

Went to a couple of shops and no one was able to make them turn. Bought new ones and now they say that cutting those screws is really dangerous cause the nut might fly out with such pressure as a bullet. WTF!? Anyone got any advice! Wanna level out my runner! It looks weird!
