runs-on-4s 88 pickup build up thread.

this is my third toyota ive had an 88 v6 4runner, 85 4runner, and now this new pile. 88 pickup. its got
new motor
190k on body
lockrite rear locker
rocksliders
33's
4inch suspension lift(unknown)
prelude bucket seats
explorer centerconsole with not just one but TWO yes TWO cups holders!!
the reason i got this truck is simply the fact it has a new motor my 85 had 233k on it, and was about to blow so i traded it. my plans for this truck is to not make it and insane sas wheeler, but a more of a dd and weekend wheeler. One day when my funds are suffecient i will get myself another 4runner and sas gear and lock the thing. but for now i got this. i wanna put on a winch , 63"chevys, electric fan, POWER STEERING!!!,rhino line the bed, i also wanna weld on mulitply shackle d rings for mulitlply recovery points. (yes i do plan on getting stuck)

The guy who owned this truck before the guy i bought it from must have been crack ... they painted the frame yellow and orange at one point and also PUT A SUNROOF IN IT... and guess what it leaks so i caulked the crap out of it.... and it still leaks!!!!!(

ive had the truck almost a week and ive puttin in a toolbox and cb
tommorrow ill rhinoline the bed and put in some missing interior parts! also work on the sunroof

I've used it before on my bed and it works pretty good

I would get a roll bar/light bar or a grille guard for the lights, if you still want to do that, put them on the cowl, it's easily removable and always survives wreaks where fenders don't, so easy to find and are cheap if you decide you don't want or like them and want to get a new cowl to replace the one with drilled holes in it.

Mounting on the cowl is your best bet, will look like a Jeep Wrangler tilt windshield light mounting bracket aftermarket add-on and if you drill a hole to run wires into the interior through the firewall do so up high cause water does go into cowl wiper arm area and use a tight grommet to help to seal, can get all kinds and sizes at NAPA, good luck! I'm a subscriber to thread so looking forward to your write up and pics :}

Always thought that body style was sharp. Truck is looking good. I seen you replaced your headlight switch and am guessing your brites werent working. In my 88 build thread on the first post I have a way of fixing your headlight switch (post#199). It is a common problem and you can keep it as a spare.

Looking forward to your build. Keep up the great work.

ya my brights would only work if ii held the switch back and my headlights would shut off about every 10 minutes... got a new relay and that didnt solve it so i ended up spended 40bucks on the new unit

thanks man... replaced the master cylinder and it didnt fix the problem, brought it to les schwab to see if they could identify it and they insisted they needed to be bleeed and it would cost 50 bucks so i told them if it fixes it ill pay for it cause i bleed them alot. and no luck. anyways they bleed about a gallon of fluid through it and they came back and said the masster was bad... so im gonna get a secondnd opinion
