It's more coming from the manifold area it almost sounds like a heat shield tin sound. I've checked all the bolts and shields and everything is secure... I have been going crazy to figure it out its driving me nuts!!

Good news/Bad news...

The Good:
I finally broke down and brought the truck into the shop to figure out that damn rattle noise.

The Bad:
My timing chain and tensioner needs to be replaced...
However it is only going to cost me $350 so no complaints!

It should be going in the shop Friday or early next week...

It's called VHT niteshades:


As dark as they are you can see my turn signals front and rear clear as day whether it is day or night. The tail/brake lights are a bit difficult to see during the daytime but at night they are perfectly fine. I plan on buying some brighter bulbs and installing them soon. I am a Service Manager at a service/parts store so i'm sure I can figure something out

the truck looks good man!!! its came a long ways. that nightshade does wonders i love that stuff. also what percent tint did you put on???just got 20 percent tint on my truck.

Thanks man it's coming together still lots to do. I have to get the timing chain and tensioner done and its back to mods! I haven't tinted them yet but I will probably do 35 percent...Maine tint laws are pretty strict.

ya i hear ya. virginia laws is 50 percent up front and 35 out back. are you doing it yourself??? my friend who has tinted alot of windows had a hard time on mine. he said the weather stripping was very tight which caused a few bubbles on the bottom. nothing major but just trying to give ya some tips man. lol

I have a friend whose dad tints windows so he'll be doing it he's cheap anyways. I may go 5 percent in the back window and 20 on the sides. I have my inspection license anyways so getting a sticker is no issue

Got some more undercoating done today on the front and rear fenders. I went kind of thin around the fenders I only did about an inch and I think I am going to make it about two and a half inches at some point. I had some small surface rust I wanted taken care of quickly before it got out of hand so I kind of threw it together fast. I will probably sand it all down and herculine it come mid summer anyways to make it even stronger. I am not sure how well the undercoating will even hold up.

I am happy with how it came out considering I am definitely not a body guy and I pretty much wing it. I do want to go a bit thicker on the fenders and follow the body line a little bit more to clean it up and match the rockers. I am glad that I got that first initial coat though to prevent rust. Like I said before it may get all redone with herculiner anyways and the undercoat will just act as a good primer

It is going in the shop on Tuesday to have the timing chain and tensioner replaced so that will break the bank for a bit.

Still to come soon though (again, in no particular order):
-window tint
-rainguards
-front shocks
-brakes
-removing decals
-buff and wax

ya i think it looks alot better than when people undercoat their whole rockers but is that the undercoat in a can???

Sure is. It's just Dupli-color rattle can undercoating spray. I like it better than most other undercoating brands because it dries faster and when it dries it hardens rock solid. A lot of other brands take forever to dry and they stay TOO rubbery and wear right off.

ya got a can of that in the garage. might have to try that. lol
