jrhende's 1987 4Runner 4WD Build-Up Thread
At about the same time that I started to get involved with the 94 Xtra Cab, my GF totaled her Kia. She had an old 4runner laying around so I got it running. This helped fuel my new Toyota madness.
The 4runner is her DD right now.
Pics and documentation to follow.

After it is running I fix the stereo
Here is a picture of the sad interior while I'm using an multimeter to figure out the wiring.

Door was sprung ...
so I took it off and with 2x4s was able to get it kind of straight. No longer sprung.

Seats from a 93 4Runner at a junkyard
Found decent seats from a 93 4runner. 3 of 4 bolts lined up on both sides. One nut that lined up already existed but was covered by carpet. Just had to cut an X in it. Driving it is night vs day better with the old seats removed. I also got seatbelts off of craigslist and replaced the old cracked ones.

Found smittybuilt bumpers ...
on Craigslist. Got nice front one for $60 and bad rear one for $30. Had to drill new holes to get two bolts to mount rear to frame each side. The front bolted right on pretty much. But now w/o stock bumpers and valence it isn't as neat as it should be. In the future I'll remedy it w/ a 2x4 that I saw some guy on the web make to clean that up.
