Harpers 88 pickup build
So i picked up an 88 xtra cab with a v6 with 150k a few months ago. It came with a garbage 4 inch suspension lift and looked like this.
Taking it out
Took the lift out and sold it to a friend. The truck also had some 49 inch chevy springs with some 5 inch long shackles and new "centering pins" drilled forward more to try to make the pinion angle correct... this didnt work at all. hit the brakes and the drive shaft falls apart... got some stock rear springs from a friend thats doing 63's and a sas to fix my problem. lift out and 33s
also noticed on the way home the front end was making a horrid clunk over bumps.... this may have been the problem... and not having the rear bushing in either lca.. this is the drivers lower ball joint.
got some goodies from wab fab that i couldnt pass up on free shipping.
toyed with the idea of the brush guard. liked it like this for a few days
then found a 82 grille and retro fitted it in there.
i also did ball joint spacers in the front and the 5 inch tg shackles with add a leafs in the rear. ive got a few more things to do to it before i put it on the road so i can drive to the trail. Looking for a solid axle too. if i stumble across one for the right price ill buy it and slowly get all the parts for a sas. Lately motivation has been low. as i got a new car and would rather drive that aroudn than work on my truck....
