chrishf12's 1990 Pickup Build-Up Thread

So here is my newest project. Brought her home Friday night.

1990 Toyota SR5 Ext Cab Pickup
3.0
5 speed
235/65 R15 roadies

In need of a bit of work but I am going to use her for hunting and a play toy.

The Good Side...

The Bad Side...

And The Nasty...

Updates as I go hopefully I will get it looking as good as my last '90. Link to pics in Sig.

First objectives are to fix power steering leak, new e-brake cable, new exhaust, and completely check all electrical and suspension components. Next The entire interior seats carpet and all will take a trip to the car wash. Fix little odds and ends from not being taken care of...Hopefully body work and paint towards the end of January. Then I can start the Mods.

Take the carpet out and pressure wash it at the car wash.
Hit the junkyard and pick up some 4Runner or SR5 seats, these are way better for wheeling and DD'ing. More adjustments and they hold you in your seat better.
Pick and Pull is your friend.
You can have her cleaned up and back to perfect with a couple runs to Pick and Pull.

Thats exactly what I am counting on! But being a college kid on a budget I have to take care of the major stuff first. I have my 4runner for a DD and am finally glad I have a truck again after selling my other one for the runner back in January.

She has already surprised me though we drove her home 3hrs running 80 nd 85 miles per hour.

The running boards have now been ditched and all the lights are in working condition, and fixed a few other odds and ends so I have made progress on my one trip home so far. Although its going a lot slower than I really want it to.
