GEOz2k7 84 4runner sr5 build up thread

so i purchased my 84 4runner sr5 about 4 months back. i didnt take to many pics along the way but i will have many pictures soon enough to add to it. when i got it, intake manifold was having major vacuum leaks. got it to pass smog, california.... BARELY! thanks to my buddys at a local smog shop.
This is how it sat after i drove it to work for a few weeks. What i have done since then has been some major mods. Solid mounts, solid trans mount, replaced motor because every time i fixed one leak another came. I put a weber on it. 32/36. was leaking from stupid stock adapter plates and just put my lc engineering adapter on yesterday and i must say weber is the way to go over stock. IMHO. i went wheelin the other day and had a little flex spot and this is how it did. i believe i got a 3 inch trail tough front lift and a rear addaleaf out back still with load leaf installed.

i changed my rear diff fluid a week or so ago finally got some time to where i could do it. pretty clean for the truck sitting for 7 years.after i did that i went wheelin again in the local river bed. after i conquered the last deep water crossing i took a lil teaser pic!

Plans: drop steering drag link, Until i get enough cash for high steer.
remove my rear load leaf to hopefully feel a little give in the rear as it hurts quite often lol. Gonna get wheel spacers the next week here. Ordering winch mount for my front. i am just gonna run the mount itself, due to it has a hitch reciever and i need a pull point.

Welding my rear end will be coming up soon if my buddy ever gets some free time to weld my spare third member.

I enjoy my 31s but i wanna move up to 14.50 wide 33s. I painted my hood flat black today and kept the stock stripes! looks pretty good ill be takin pictures after lunch.

Basically. 33 by 14.50s. winch mount front as my bumper. drop arm. wheel spacers. and get a winch hopefully in next month or so and weld my rear end. trying to keep it simple i m on a big budget.

Yesterday i had to replace my front left caliper and both front pads due to pistons were leakin and locking up my front end. during this process i filled knuckles with grease and put a monroe steerring dampener on as mine was blown. Great riding truck besides the rear load leaf.

Pictures will be coming later today! hope u stay tuned! its gonna get good!

The terrain around here is either pismo, sand. or river bed rocky sand. wide tires do rly well. skinnys are morefor mud purposes around here.

ordered my front winch plate bumper from lowrange, and i went to harbor freight for my d ring reciever. next itll be a winch. anyone have luck with badland winches? from harbor freight. 9klb one looks pretty beefy and legit.

I greased all my fittings and i mean all lol. filled knuckles with grease. the damn thing dont clunk or clank at all. rides like a dream.

1.5 wheel spacers are now on.

once my winch mount gets here ill post pics of it.

NEXT???? drop drag link? i cant afford high steer really. hundred bucks tho isnt bad for a drop drag link and i can afford that once my next check arrives. anyone got any input on what else to do?

I was thinkin a welded rear?? i am pullin my front end apart soon to take a shim out or rebuild it, and i was thinkin maybe the front? hmmm opinions welcomed!

I'd wait on the drop drag for 100$ and save up another 220$ and get the trail gear high steer kit for 320$. 100$ right now is a waste if you have plans on going hi steer in the future. IMO.

well i understand that. but it will be a long time if i do that. i need more then just the 220 extra if u understand. shipping, ifs box mount plate, time, labor its just a lot more to it. thanks for ur input man!

Here are some new shots of today and or yesterday!

Front winch mount plate is on and painted with a d ring in the reciever!
great flex from my trail tough leafs. i think ima add a leaf soon. I just dunno how hard itll be to open the metal clamps around leafs. and the rear seemed to do alright i 3 wheel with rear a lot!
