bamacooner1591's 1980 Pickup Build-Up Thread
I picked up a 1st gen yota a few weeks ago and am starting to mess around with it a little bit. I already pulled the 20r out and dropped a 89' 22r in it. I got a set of 36in swammpers waitin to go on it, just gotta find some rear leaf springs.
Things to add-Put bed on it
New wiring
Lift
Paint
I'll keep pics posted as i make progress.

Got my the flatbed off today, will post pics tomorrow. Got a question though, my buddy says he is going to give me a second gen bed. Will it fit? I am pretty sure the bolts won't line up, but will there be any width differences that are really noticable. If you have done it, post some pics on here please.

you should have definitaly kept it a first gen, just find a differant firstgen cab and then flat deck it
edit, your first gen cab looked fine, just fine new fenders and spray paint it OD green

well man, down here in the south you can't find a first gen with the floor pans intact and a bed worth anything. this is an priject i started when i was 17, i'm 18 now and still in school. so im takin what i can get. i like the 1st gen body style, but i really like the way the 2wd fenders look on the 4x4
